Image Excellence
Orlando wedding photography has experienced considerable change in the last decade. As photojournalism is the type of documentary photography used in such magazines as Time and National Geographic, “wedding photojournalism” is a similar style that has provided an alternative to traditional wedding photography. Wedding photojournalism illustrates heartfelt emotions and avoids the prompted or posed look of the traditional formal style, with little or no intrusion. A reason for its popularity is due to the editorial style of photography seen in wedding magazines like Modern Bride. Another reason is the personal coverage to each wedding that makes each couple’s album unique. As your wedding photographer I do not create a series of arranged images but tell a story of your very special day.
There are many destination wedding photographers who say that they do photojournalism. In fact, many do. However, wedding photojournalism isn’t simply a photographer shooting black & white candids. Photojournalism has nothing to do with whether the image is black & white or color. There is a difference between candid photography and the technique of the destination wedding photographer photojournalist. A wedding photojournalist needs finely tuned skills of anticipation and observation: sensing, feeling, and seizing those decisive moments. The best wedding photographer tries to work quiet and discreetly. People act more like themselves when they are unaware that they are being photographed at weddings. The photographer can be “unseen” with their unobtrusive manner and the couple can really enjoy their family and friends.
With preparations and introductions made, the climax of the ceremony approaches. As the music sounds the first notes of the ceremony, my lens turns back to the bride. Tension builds as your decisive moment approaches. The deep emotions behind your veil and those radiating from your father and other family members warrant recording. Invisible to you and your guests, I will capture your ceremony artistically, freezing the exchange of rings, vows, and kiss in time for posterity. The elation and release between you and your spouse as you leave the altar as man and wife will not vanish like mist in the sun, but remain in hard copy for future reflection. Pictures of the immediate family as they gather around you to share in your joy, and some more private shots of the two of you enjoying alone time walking and winding down before your reception provide a nice denouement from the earlier events of the day. Rather than posing you and your husband, I prefer to capture moments that naturally arise as the two of you interact. Your genuine personalities evidence in this way. Photographing family formals quickly allows more time for this. To expidite the process assign a family member familiar with everyone in both of the families to help organize the groups. Two copies of a pre-prepared list of the groups you wish to be photographed should be given to the organizer.
As an Orlando wedding photographer my aim will be to produce a set of images that warm you, entertain you, congratulate you - and capture the look and emotion of your wedding day. It is my personal goal to provide the VERY best in wedding photography not only in Orlando and Florida but as an international destination wedding photographer as well.
